I finished binge-watching (binging?) Seasons 1 and 2 - I am thoroughly satisfied. My observations:
This show predicted the Coronavirus pandemic and the China global aggression, although both of these are different in detail from the show
The spy-vs-spy stuff is secondary - this show has been a theater-style ensemble cast which come to grips with their past - some "repent", others don't
This show reinforces my belief that good shows are either about the plot, the characters that fans want to believe in or like, or the atmosphere. I think that Justin Marks agrees with me on the second one...
I didn't get the parade of prostitution, lesbianism, and what's up with the black underwear?
The Peter Quayle role is beautiful to me - the person who is trying to hang on, keep the drama down
I observe a strong element of "perseverance" - keep on going (and I like it very much)
